If you haven't been interested in California weather, but you still check out my blog, here's a quick note: The Sierra Nevada has between 125% and 175% of its average annual snowfall. Some parts of Southern California received 10 inches of rain in 24 hours last week. Here, we had a tremendous amount of rain, too, but it is clearing out this week, which means it's planting time! Any suggestions?

Hmm.... falling rivers and clearing conditions, sounds like steelhead weather. Head a little north and swing a fly?
The news about the governor maybe announcing an end to the drought is pretty funny for anyone who has been wanting to plant a garden in N. California lately. And in other news, water is wet and mud is muddy!
Whatever you do in the garden, protect it from the ducks first!
Gary, don't tempt me! How I wish I could get out, and I wouldn't even need to go north, just East about five miles. However, duty calls...
muddytoes, I was also amused at the end of the drought. I honestly didn't think he would do it right now, either. Water flows where money grows...
Sugar snap peas -- best savory in-garden wander-around snack on the West coast of this content.

BPaul, I love those! However, peas grow best here from November through April... are the sugar snaps good with hot temps? If so, I'll grow 'em.
we're only just getting into planting time here in Kentucky. Was thrilled today to pick up several blueberry plants...can't wait to plant them. My hubby has several seeds germinating by a window indoors. yea!!
